The 2007 International Conference on Urban Health will be held October 31 – November 2, 2007 at the Sheraton Baltimore City Center Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland, U.S. A variety of pre-conference workshops will take place on October 30, 2007. This conference is designed to:

  • Bring together a diverse group of researchers, practitioners and policymakers
  • Challenge attendees to brainstorm about how technology might enhance their behavioral interventions, research or programs
  • Challenge attendees to think about how technology influences personal behavior and health outcomes
  • Encourage attendees to consider how technology might help (or harm) our attempts to address racial and ethnic disparities in the urban environment
  • Stimulate thought regarding the role of technology in behavioral interventions in developing nations
  • Promote transdisciplinary research, practice and policy collaborations

As part of the technical program, there will be two poster presentation sessions. Abstract submission for poster and/or oral presentations is now closed. Please click here for additional information about the abstract notification process. All presenters must be registered for the conference in order to present.

Conference Scholarships

A limited number of travel assistance scholarships are available for accepted authors from developing nations. If your abstract was accepted but you did not check the scholarships box at the time of submission, please contact Amy Gawad for additional details. Please note that scholarship assistance is only available for accepted authors.

Social Program / Evening Events

On Thursday, November 1, a social event will be held at the National Aquarium in Baltimore. Dinner and entertainment will be provided. Reservations for all social program and/or evening events are to made and paid at the time of registration. To register for the Social Evening, please visit the registration page.

Conference Language

The official language of ICUH 2007 is English. For this reason, simultaneous translation will not be provided and all conference material (written and spoken) will be in English. All abstracts, presentation materials, and/or posters submitted for the conference are therefore required to be in English.
